Our first reaction in life is to cry. . .When we are little we cry for so such trivial things. . Then, as we grow up we become so accustomed to the difficulties of life that we can be most resilient  and not even shed a tear in times of utmost grief.   Maybe it is these times of grief that makes us tenacious. . .

To some, crying is an expression of weakness, to some that of  cowardice. . .

Whether people are devastated or not I will not shed a tear for them; they have not deserved anything. ( 30 April, 1945)

This is Adolf Hitler’s quotation. Some people feel no remorse and shed no tears. Whereas, crying is a human expression. . an expression of love and mercy. .  an expression of remorse. . a human reaction. . .conversely, a lion does not cry over the gazelle  it has killed. Tears are a spiritual consolation confined  to humans.

Crying is a pleasure. Therefore, cry plentifully. Mevlana; Mesnevi, Vol 5, Pages 134-143

Don’t refrain from crying just because others think it is an expression of weakness. Crying is relief. Some people force themselves not to cry and become  psychologically irritated.  Tears are the water that clear this inner irritation.

The most valuable tears are those shed when yearning for God. Because each tear is a pearl.

The beloved Prophet (May God Commend and salute him) informs us that:  “God will be merciful on the Day of Judgment to those who shed tears in a secluded place while meditating on God and that their eyes, sentries along the path to God, will not be quenched by  Hell fire.”

It is a Quran which we have divided (into parts from time to time), in order that thou mightest recite it to men at intervals: We have revealed it by stages. Say: Whether ye believe in it or not, it is true that those who were given knowledge beforehand, when it is recited to them, fall down on their faces in humble prostration, And they say:  Glory to our Lord! Truly has the promise of our Lord been fulfilled. They fall down on their faces in tears, and it increases their (earnest) humility.  VERSES 106-107-108-109, CHILDREN OF ISRAEL (BANI ISRAIL)
