DREAMS NEVER AGE
We have dreams, dreams that never end. We always live for a dream. . . Matter of fact, it is these dreams that keep us alive.
We age but our dreams do not.
Try to remember one of your elementary school friends from your childhood memories.
Do you remember?
You know them as you last saw them. Is that not so?
You cannot imagine what they look like in later years. Everything you remember relating to the past is what you last saw.. We can never age anything in our mind. Because dreams do not age.
We have had dreams in our childhood. You know how they ask:
What are you going to become when you grow up? The routine answer, who knows why, is for boys and girls to respectively say doctor and teacher. If these dreams had come true there would have been a surge of doctors and teachers.
Children do not say they are going to be a drug addict or a whore.
Unfortunately, many who dreamed of becoming a doctor or teacher have been disillusioned.
Children who dreamt of becoming a doctor or teacher and whose dreams came true have had a new dream.
The dream of finding employment. Those of wealthy families dream of going abroad. Those whose families are not affluent, dream of a state scholarship.
Whatever, after finding employment then another dream begins.
The dream to form a family. . . Naturally, if they have found the dream spouse. . .
The dream of the house they will live in. . .the furniture they he will buy. . . and maybe the dream of an automobile. . .
When these materialize then they will have new dreams.
The dream to be a parent. . . Even the difficulties in bringing up those children do not bar that dream.
Then the dream of sending the children to private school.
Or the dream to just send the child to school and then the dream of the children’s marrying. . .
If this materializes then the dream of retirement. . .
– At this time of age it has really become a dream.
Thus, are our dreams. . .
Our dreams keep us alive. We live for our dreams. We age with our dreams but our dreams never age.
We never dream of dying the next day or following year. . .
We never dream we will lose our health or be paralyzed and wheelchair- bound and be dependent on the care of someone else. . .
If we did. . . Life would become unbearable for us.
If we knew the day we would die. . . We would daily die a thousand deaths.
It is for this reason that. . . We always dream of the new and the beautiful. . Because dreams never age.
May God be your beloved and your companion.
Every soul shall have the taste of death: And only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have succeeded: For the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception. Verse 185 The Family Of Imran Sura 3
