There are two kinds of prototypes we come across with today. .
The first prototype is those who like to be praised. .
whom we encounter in every community. Sometimes it can be a director, sometimes a politician and sometimes a man on the street. . They all do the same thing. . They love to be praised because they are arrogant.. .
“And swell not thy cheek (for pride) at men, nor walk in insolence through the Earth;for God loveth not any arrogant boaster.” Verse 18, The Wise (Luqman) Sura 31
The second prototype is those who like to praise. . . In old times these prototypes were called caterers. So much so that catering even became a profession. Just as it is nowadays. . . You surely have come across such people in your surroundings. There are people who prefer receiving praise from people to the extent that they can even sell their friends short for this end. Instead of subjecting themselves to God, to subject oneself to anothre subject is so downgrading an act.
Whereas praise and gratitude only belongs to God.
And say: “ All praise be to God who has neither begotten a son nor has a partner in His Kingdom; nor has He need of any one to protect Him from ignominy. So extol Him by extolling His majesty."
VERSE 111, THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL (BANI ISRA-IL) SURA 17
