The other day a friend and I were going along in my car. . and right in front of us there was a Mercedes bound in the same direction. . a brand new last model automobile. . My friend said to me: “If only I owned such an automobile. . .” I looked at the license plate of the Mercedes. . .right on the bottom corner there was a logo: HANDICAPPED I turned around and responded to my friend: “ I’m sure that the owner of that car would say ‘ Instead of owning such a car, I wish I could walk.’
We all long for what others have and wish we had it, too. But, what is best is what we have. . .
We must consider ourselves fortunate if we can healthily breathe and peacefully eat a bite of food. . .
As humans we are always going after something. . .if we are single we dream of a happy home. . . If we do not have any children, we are obsessed with having children. . if we are tenants we wish to own our own home. . and then a summer home. . .There is no end to our wishes. . We always wish to acquire something. . . We imagine how nice everything will be once we own that object. . we think that the more money we have, the more happy we will become. . .
These bodily desires last throughout our lives. .
Forget what you do not own. . . be content with what you have. . because there will always be things you cannot own. . .
And in no wise covet those things in which God hath bestowed His gifts more freely on some of you than on others:. . . . But ask God of His honesty, For God hath full knowledge of all things. Verse 32, The Women (Nisaa) Sura 4
Do not think that those who have what we do not are happy. . .the most precious thing you can have is your faith. . .if you do not have faith. . . .that means you have nothing. . .
MAY GOD BE YOUR BELOVED AND YOUR COMPANION
SHOWING THE WAY
